MusicAtlas Launches Complimentary Robin Access for Film Students and Educators

Robin for Education expands MusicAtlas’s support for emerging filmmakers, giving eligible students and educators access to professional music discovery tools.

NEW YORK β€” MusicAtlas today announced Robin for Education, providing complimentary access to its Robin music discovery platform for eligible film students and educators worldwide.

Robin helps filmmakers discover commercially released music from real artists, labels, and publishers using scene descriptions, sonic similarity, lyrics, mood, energy, and natural-language creative prompts.

The new program gives students and educators access to the same platform used by professional creative teams, allowing them to explore music for films, shorts, documentaries, portfolio projects, and other creative work while gaining experience with real-world music discovery and licensing workflows.

β€œFilm school is where many filmmakers begin developing their creative relationship with music. We want students to have the freedom to explore the broader world of commercially released music as they develop their own voices as filmmakers.” β€” Neil Shah, Founder & CEO, MusicAtlas

Expanding Support for Emerging Filmmakers

Robin for Education builds on MusicAtlas’s growing work with independent and emerging filmmakers.

Earlier this year, MusicAtlas launched the Robin Film Grant, providing funding and resources to independent filmmakers seeking to license commercially released music. The Valley Buzz, from filmmaker Taylor Hammersla, was selected as the inaugural Spring 2026 grant recipient, alongside ten additional Official Selections.

In August, MusicAtlas partnered with the 48 Hour Film Project in New York, providing participating filmmakers with access to Robin for music discovery as they created their films during the 2026 competition.

The company will continue that effort this fall, with applications for the next Robin Film Grant opening October 1. Additional details about the expanded Fall 2026 program and partnerships will be announced later this month.
