In partnership with Greenlit, the grant provides funding and access to new tools for discovering and licensing commercially released music from major and independent catalogs.
MusicAtlas today announced the Robin Film Grant, a new initiative designed to support filmmakers while introducing a faster and more effective approach to finding and licensing music for film and video projects.
The program will award one selected project with a $1,000 cash grant to be used toward third-party music licensing fees. Applications are open from April 1 through May 15, 2026. The grant is presented in partnership with Greenlit, a platform supporting filmmakers with tools for production, financing, and networking.
The Robin Film Grant centers around music search and discovery for filmmakers. Applicants receive access to MusicAtlasβs Robin platform, where they can search for music using natural language, sonic similarity, lyrics, and creative prompts. Robin is designed to make it significantly faster and easier to find relevant, licensable tracks from commercially released music catalogs β the kind of music that can carry a pivotal scene, shape emotional tone, or land a closing credit moment.
Filmmakers can organize, save, and shortlist music as they explore, creating a more streamlined workflow for sourcing tracks that fit their scenes and creative direction. As part of the application, filmmakers build a shortlist of music that could be used in their project.
βFinding music for film should be fast, intuitive, and connected to real, licensable catalogs. Robin helps filmmakers search across commercially released music from major and independent artists, labels, and publishers β not just generic library tracks β and quickly identify songs that actually fit a project.β β Neil Shah, Founder & CEO, MusicAtlas
